The Process

We’ve established that having more users click on and engage with your Profile will help boost its visibility.

After all – that’s what the E3 Formula is for in the Optimization Pyramid:

The E3 Formula specifically focuses on naturally building the engagement of your Profile.

Engagement Overdrive focuses on pouring fuel on the fire by gaming these engagement metrics.

However, we can’t simply search for our business and click our own results a bunch of times to get the effect we’re looking for.

Google tracks things like IP address, browser type, and more to track unique users.

Instead, we will need to use a service which gets real people to do this for you, at a scale that brings a meaningful result to your Profile.

To do this, there are two services I’ve used:

  • SerpClix
  • Babylon Traffic

Babylon Traffic is much more technical – so I would recommend going with SerpClix – since it’s a service dedicated specifically to what we’re looking to do.

Note: I have no affiliation with SerpClix or Babylon Traffic. I also don’t get any perks for referring you. Frankly, if there’s a better service that comes along, I’ll update this to reflect it.

SerpClix has a free trial which gives us what we need.

I would recommend starting there and canceling your account if you don’t want to pay.

If you see great results with this, it’s a relatively inexpensive way to continue to get better engagement (which translates to higher rankings).

The process below will focus on using SerpClix in particular.

Before getting started: Your Google Business Profile should be set up and verified at a minimum. For best results, you should be putting the Execution Plan to work before doing this for the first time.

The Process

1. Identify the keyword you want someone to search to find your business.

If your company name is “Crystal Glass Repair” and you’re located in San Diego, the keyword would be Crystal Glass Repair San Diego.

2. Create a SerpClix account.

Make sure you get the free trial. Visit this page to do so: https://serpclix.com/users/register/buyer/plans

3. Create a new order.

Click the green button on the top right of the Order History table:

4. Select Google Maps / My Business in the search engine drop down:

5. Enter the keyword.

Remember, this should be the keyword you identified in step one:

6. Enter your Profile’s Business Name and website URL.

The Business Name needs to be exactly the same as your Profile.

Use the same website URL that’s on your Profile too.

7. Maximize the clicks we get from the free trial.

The free trial offers 500 credits.

But we’re going to get clicks from people in the USA specifically.

Each USA-based click costs 17 credits.

That means we get 29 free clicks:

8. Select USA from the list of countries.

Click the arrow next to Advanced Options:

Then select United States:

If your Profile is located in another country (e.g. Canada) – then select that specific country.

9. Make sure all of the information is correct.

10. Create your order.

It usually takes one business day for the campaign to be approved.

You’ll start getting clicks as soon as it’s live.

That’s it.

If you’re tracking results in the Insights section, you’ll see the affects of this in your website clicks.

Cancelling Your Account

If you want to cancel your account before you’re billed, please do so after you’ve gotten all the clicks you ordered.

This should be completed well before the 14 day trial period has finished. You can cancel on this page: https://serpclix.com/buyers/update-plan/

Continued Use

If you decide to keep using the Engagement Overdrive strategy, here are further instructions:

  • Only use this once per month.
  • Short, larger bursts of clicks are more effective than slow, steady amounts of clicks. This tells Google that your business is “trending”  – and if you’re following the Execution Plan, the extra visibility you get from this burst will lead to a continued boost in visibility.
  • The average business only needs about 25-75 clicks for this to have an effect.
